Where the owl and the meadowlark and the antelope live.

Hope your world is as beautiful as this.
Thinking of you,

Glad I'm not there

A balmy good morning to you from the Hinterlands of North Dakota. Only a slight breeze so the wind chill is not much lower.
School is still on today so it's business as usual.

Greetings from Mom

Just an update on Tom. He is doing really well and has good spirits considering he lost his middle finger on his left hand. The accident happened Thursday 3-4 pm, surgery that night, home Friday, went out hunting Saturday, Sunday went bowling, Monday saw the doctor and said everything looks good and the movement in index and third finger is better than expected. Tom does have pain in the index finger as the repair was close to the joint. He'll go back to see the doctor Jan 15.

Hope you are doing well and say hi to Beth. You are missing a snow storm that will last until Saturday. We did get hit with it today but I think we will be on the edge of it now and not see to much action. It looks like we received 3 to 4 inches of snow. It is very cold and of course it had to rain before it snowed which makes it more dangerous. Leaving BCI today, I had trouble getting the driver door open. I had to really use my muscles to pull it open then I had to really beat on the wipers to get them to work as they were really stuck on the windshield. It's a good thing I do upper aerobics at school to be in shape to do this. How has the weather been for you? We just got a surprise call from Jean O'Connor (Jack was her husband, John's Godfather) who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico and her temperature was 39 degrees. It sounds like it is colder than normal everywhere.

Have a good rest of the week and will try calling sometime now that we are on Christmas break from school until Jan 4.

Love
Mom

Here Lies Mike Welsh

One of my dad's co-workers at Theodore Roosevelt National Park took this picture when he was hiking around somewhere in western ND.
